AMRD - Autonomous Maritime Radio Devices

AMRD can be used for positioning and tracking transponders at sea. The boat must have an AMRD box connected to a VHF antenna and is connected to Olex via either a serial cable or Ethernet. The box communicates with any AMRD device within radio range, and they appear on Olex, whether they are yours or someone else's. An AMRD in radio contact appears as a green square on the Olex screen.
If Olex loses contact with your AMRD transponders (when the range is more than 0.1 nautical mile) a special plotter symbol will replace the position, so that the last known position of your devices remains in Olex, regardless of range. As soon as the device in question resumes communication, the symbol is deleted and replaced by the green square with the true position. Devices that are not owned by you, as configured in the device, will not be remembered in this way.
