CA473229 - Killarney to/ Little Current

COURSE
The recommended courses have been adopted by the Lake Carriers' Association (U.S.A) and
the Chamber of Marine Commerce (Canada).

AIDS TO NAVIGATION
The small-craft routes are considered upbound when proceeding from Port Severn to Little Current and the aids are placed accordingly.
However, the buoyage may be reversed when small-craft routes coincide with the main ship channels which are buoyed for conventional seaward approach.
Proceeding upbound or upstream, red buoys or daybeacons mark the starboard (right-hand) side of the channel and
green buoys or daybeacons mark the port (left-hand) side of the channel.

PRIVATE AIDS
Alternate tracks deviating from the main small-craft route are sometimes marked by private aids to navigation which are usually uncharted and not maintained.

CABLES
Mariners are advised to exercise caution when passing under all overhead cables and to avoid anchoring
or conducting seabed operations in the vicinity of submarine cables. The clearance of an overhead cable
may differ from its charted value due to changes in atmospheric conditions, water levels and other factors.
For additional information, consult Notice No.16 in the Notices to Mariners, Annual Edition and the appropriate volume of CHS Sailing Directions.

NOTE
Overhead and submarine cables may not be charted, due to continuous utility development.

See Notices to Mariners for subsequent corrections on this chart and Notices to Shipping
in force for hazards or changes essential for the safety of navigation.
